Jhpiego ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Mera Mentor mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

1.1 Personal Information
When you create an account or use the App, we may collect:
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, username, and role (Mentor, Mentee, or Principal).
- Professional Information: Facility assignment, batch information, training program details, and institutional affiliation.
- Authentication Data: Encrypted passwords and PIN codes for secure access.
1.2 Usage Data
- Assessment Data: Competency assessment scores, skill observations, and evaluation records created during mentorship visits.
- Portfolio Data: Logbook entries, certificates, case documentation, reflective journals, and Individual Development Plan (IDP) goals submitted by mentees.
- Visit Records: Visit schedules, check-in/check-out times, visit summaries, and feedback.
1.3 Location Data
With your explicit permission, we collect GPS coordinates during facility visit check-ins to verify visit locations. Location data is collected only when you actively initiate a visit check-in and is not collected in the background.
1.4 Device Information
We may collect device identifiers, operating system version, and app version for technical support and compatibility purposes.
1.5 Audio Data
With your explicit permission, the App may access your microphone for voice-to-text input functionality. Audio is processed in real-time for transcription and is not stored or transmitted as audio recordings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the mentorship platform.
- Facilitate competency assessments and progress tracking.
- Enable communication between mentors, mentees, and administrators.
- Generate assessment reports and PDF documents.
- Manage visit scheduling, approvals, and feedback workflows.
- Improve and personalize the user experience.
- Ensure the security and integrity of user accounts.
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:
- Within the Platform: Mentors can view mentee profiles, submissions, and assessment data as part of the mentorship relationship. Principals can view aggregated performance data for their assigned facilities and personnel.
- Program Partners: Aggregated and anonymized data may be shared with government health departments and training institutions for program evaluation and improvement.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
- Service Providers: We may share data with third-party service providers who assist in operating the App, subject to confidentiality agreements.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Data is stored on secure servers and transmitted using encrypted connections.
- Local data on your device is stored in encrypted databases.
- We implement industry-standard security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction of data.
- PIN-based authentication provides an additional layer of device-level security.

Assessment records and training data may be retained for program compliance and accreditation purposes as required by applicable regulations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
